Hunting for Dragons

Seriously, I love this piece. It is awesome.

Well, normally I’ll put a big-sized video, but in this case I just want to show the music. Hoho.

This piece is called Pilatus: Mountains of Dragons. Well, as the name indicates, it tells about a journey seeking for dragons at Mount Pilatus.

Let me google first, where is Pilatus.

Oh, it’s in Lucerne, Switzerland. (although I don’t which part in Switzerland, NVM leave that aside)

I can't see any Dragon

I can't see any Dragon

Well guys, can u spot any dragons?

****

This song was composed by Steven Reineke and this song is graded as  4½ . Quite tough to be performed but really love the oboe solo parts. Kinda soothing. Haha.

You can find the mp3 version at soundclick.com =D

eriously, I love this piece. It is awesome.

Synesthesia

Synesthesia

Synesthesia?

Yes, synesthesia. After watching Toaru Kagaku No Railgun ( A Certain Scietific Railgun), episode 08: Level Upper, I have built an interest regarding this subject particularly.

But, before that, let me tell you what Toaru Kagaku No Railgun is all about. (or you can try ask Mr. Wiki)

This anime is a adaptation  of Toaru Majutsu no Index ( A Certain Magical Index) spin off  novel with the same title that mainly focusing on adventure of Misaka Mikoto and her friend. Okay, enough with the introduction. Back to the topic.

What is synesthesia?

Misaka explaining to Kuroko

Misaka explaining to Kuroko

From the anime, we learn that synesthesia is feeling multiple sensations from a single one.

From Wikipedia:

Syn·es·the·sia is a neurologically-based condition in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway.

Whoa! It’s involuntary!

Further explanation by Misaka

“You know when you see reddish colors you feel warm, or see blues and feel cool?”, ask Misaka. People that experiences synesthesia are called synesthetes.

Synesthetes

Most synesthetes perceived this experience as a gift  instead of a handicap.

Synesthesis can occur to almost two senses and there are various forms of synesthesia. Some of them can hear the sound of alphabets, see the color of the days and even see the color of the sound. It’s totally different frm hallucination.

Try watch this video.

After watching this video, we learnt a few key things which are;

  • The amount of wiring in human brain is the same, but the different is the slight difference in excitation and the inhibition. For example, the activity in area A in the brain might invoke area B.
  • Non-synesthetes also can experience synesthesia in certain condition.
  • Some people might perceive reality in different ways.

Haha, and this video is a creative video about synesthesia. The sound of food.

Some people perceive world alternately. =)

Do leave comment. =D
